In this series of classes we will be tackling a type of garment each month. I show you have to fix what you bring to class and then you go home and fix everything like it your closet! This class allows you to learn what really fits, feels and look good on you and how to do it over and over and over again.
Saturday July 27 10 – noon
Alterations Class – jeans hems $25
We are going to tackle the thing that gets us all – hems. No more staples, no more tape, no more just rolling them up! Instead we make pants as they ought to fit – just long enough. And we are going to to do it so they look good. Not just sort of good or good-enough – but GOOD. Like they were made that way good.
Bring a pair of jeans or a pair of pants (two if you feel like a pro-in-the-making) and we will get them to fit your length perfectly. RULE: make sure they are washed before you bring them in. You will leave able to correct the length on any pair of pant you own after this class.
Class cost $25
Sewing level: Beginner: You can sew in a straight line most of the time. You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to feel comfortable with the machine — you know what seam allowance is, maybe you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. The prerequisite for any Beginner class is a Sewing 101 class or equivalent. This level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.
